  • Setting Up Your Community's Terms and Conditions

Effective management of creator content and rights is crucial to ensure transparency, legal compliance, and smooth operation of your ambassador programs. This guide explains how terms and conditions are managed on the Odore platform and outlines important considerations for brands.

    Terms and Conditions

Brands can customize their terms and conditions to align with their legal and operational requirements. Odore offers a standard set of terms and conditions for ambassador programs, which brands can choose to use. These are designed to cover the essential aspects of managing creators and their content.

In addition, our Privacy Policy outlines how we handle data and can also be adopted by brands. If your brand prefers to use its own terms and policies, please inform your Customer Success Manager. They will ensure your custom terms are set up correctly on the platform.

Note: Odore does not provide legal advice. All terms and conditions should be thoroughly reviewed and approved by your legal department to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

    Data Processor vs. Data Controller

Odore operates as a data processor, meaning we process data on behalf of your brand. Your brand remains the data controller, which means you are responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing personal data. This distinction ensures that data management complies with applicable data protection regulations.

Tip: Ensure your brand’s legal department reviews the data processing setup and verifies compliance with data protection laws such as GDPR or CCPA.

    Managing Creator Content

Clear and transparent guidelines for managing creator content help protect your brand and creators while fostering trust within your community. The terms should specify:

    • Ownership rights of the content created by ambassadors.
    • Usage rights granted to the brand, including any indefinite or limited-time usage clauses.
    • Guidelines for content submission and approval processes.
    • Privacy and data protection obligations.
Important: If your brand specifies mission-specific terms (e.g., for campaigns), ensure these are clearly outlined and communicated to creators before they participate.
